LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday granted bail to Shehzad, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in knife attacks on women in Karachi.
The accused was released on bail under the Section 497 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 after the police told the court that there was no evidence found against him.
The police arrested Shehzad last month using closed-circuit camera television footage which showed a man on a motorbike attacking a woman with a knife.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had claimed that the arrested suspect was also behind the similar attacks in Punjab’s Chichawatni area.
However, the ATC released the accused as no substantial evidence was found against him.
