Former premier, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, on Monday, called on the government to consult opposition parties on the extension in military courts.
Talking to media sources, he noted that previously, military courts had been set up for a maximum time of two years to be followed with an extension of another two years.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader asked the government to explain why another extension in military courts was necessary.
” Our stance is same on the military courts, which is about the NAB,” Abbasi added while suggesting the government to appraise the parliament about the National Action Plan (NAP).
“Definitely the national economy is sliding to bankruptcy, but this is not due to the 18th Amendment or the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award,” the former prime minister regretted.
The government should convene a meeting of the NFC Award and resolve the matter, he added.
The opposition would review the steps taken by the prime minister and take a joint stance, Abbasi claimed.
The senior leader alleged that the prime minister had violated the constitution while paralysing the National Assembly.
Crying that Pakistan could not afford the ongoing conditions for the next five years, Abbasi reiterated that his party would support any decision taken for the betterment of the country.
