KARACHI: The female Pakistani police officer SSP Suhai Aziz Talpur who led the operation against terrorists who attacked the Chinese Consulate in Karachi has been nominated for Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal for her heroic efforts.
SSP Suhai Aziz Talpur, who joined the police force after clearing her CSS in 2013, fearlessly led the successful police operation against terrorists at Chinese Consulate.
Sindh IG highly praised SSP Suhai Aziz for their valor and courage. He has announced certificates and Rs2 lac each for the police officers.
Two policemen have been killed in an attack outside the Chinese embassy in Karachi’s Clifton Block 4 on Friday, police officials reported.
According to details, unknown suspects possessing hand grenades and other weapons fired near the Chinese consulate in Clifton Block 4 around 9:15am.
Eyewitnesses said that at least four suspects who arrived in Suzuki car attempted to enter the consulate but security forces deployed outside retaliated to the firing.
The police and Rangers have been deployed at the site of the incident and roads leading to the consulate have been cordoned off.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Karachi Javed Alam Odho said that three suspects have been killed and search operation is still underway.
Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated all staff members of the Chinese embassy in Karachi remained safe in today’s attack. He condemned “cowardly” attack and lauded the timely action by police and rangers who foiled the attack.
